  they give you a bare bones management GUI, but none of the good features.

  you can use the VI client for a complete VI or for a single host, its the server licence and management server that offer the extra features 😉

  I take it that the SQL data and log disks are Raw device mappings or Raw LUN's?

  Are there any other Vm's residing on the ESX host

  Is the SAN FCP or ISCSI

  Are you writing over 1gb ethernet if iscsi

  if its a SAN do other systems data or vm's exist on the aggregate or disk subsystem

  sorry more questions than answers
