And a week of troubleshooting later I'm back.Problem 2... I LIKE IE. *shrugs* It does what I need... usually.
So does RBAR...that doesn't mean it is a good choice. 😛
Windows Exploiter and FF are among the worst are consuming memory. I have been a long time user of FF but am getting more and more frustrated with size of the thing when it is running. It is almost always in the top 3 memory hogs on my machine, right next to SQL and Visual Studio. When i start to see my browser at 400mb + i tend to get a bit annoyed. I have not seen nearly the memory exploitation from Chrome.

General availability is for the first of April. Why does that make me skeptical?

MS seems to start evaluating their products the same way their customers do. (I'm not talking about functionality here, rather the new licencing concept.)
At least MS made it happen their product is discussed at top management level in our facility. But I guess the direction the discussion is heading to is not the one MS is looking for...

So far as I remember, this marks the first time that a major product is GA on a Sunday.

People crack me up. Someone posts a link to a report, and misstates what the report found (extrapolating a specific finding to the general). When I point out that they were misleading folks, and the report actually finds the opposite for the general situation, they claim I am challenging the study.Reading comprehension is such an elite skill.
I suspect that marketing takes advantage of our scanning words rather than reading them. In my inbox just now, I saw an ad that says in huge letters "50% OFF!" and just before that, in small print, is the tiny, but powerful, little phrase "up to."
I had that problem with Cheeze-Its yesterday. It says Made with 100% Real Cheese on the front, but when you look at the ingredients, the first thing is wheat.
The part of the product that IS cheese is 100% cheese, I think. It likely is made from dehydrated cheese, reconstituted into a paste, then dried in hot ovens, or something like that. It's just that the cheese part is really small. 🙂

A friend of mine ran a boning plant where he took in the carcasses of dead dairy cows and converted to '100% beef' ground meat.
The 100% is probably true, it's of what that always worries me.

I don't mind IE9, hopefully you're not still using 6 (crap), not real fond of 7 or 8. FWIW, you can install Chrome even if you don't have rights, loads into a temp directory. Must drive people nuts, but handy.

IE10 in the Win8 developer & consumer preview is pretty good. Faster than Chrome, which has become my standard browser. Unfortunately, our code has to support IE6+, FireFox 3.0+ and Chrome so despite IE10 being a massive improvement I still will probably avoid it due to the issues I have to deal with from its ancestors 😛

True, and we certainly would look to comply with something as blatant as that. The rub comes when someone does something that might be argued fair use. I'm not sure to what extent we would be able to argue before we'd be shut down.
Or would we be able to afford to argue? The concern is that larger companies abuse this (as they have with the DCMA) to barrage smaller companies with requests, and prevent them from posting anything remotely like their content.

Not necessarily. All a company needs to do it tell the host that the site contains pirated material and it gets taken down. That was part of the problem with those proposed laws. No due process.
