  • RE: A Lifetime of Software

I don't see myself doing this long term unfortunately. I enjoy database work and development, but IT in general has put me off. Money is good relatively speaking, but work/life...

  • RE: Is PowerShell Intimidating?

I really didn't see much value initially, but over time I've used it more and more. It started when I found the DBATools module on github (https://github.com/ctrlbold/dbatools). We...

  • RE: Identity Field Fluctuations

There is a stored procedure that merges the ship, order, and load tables that does computations and concatenations of fields. This procedure also attempts to retain the identity fields....

  • RE: Identity Field Fluctuations

I have. When I run the procedure after the fact the correct ID is placed with the information. The other data fields on the record with the incorrect...

  • RE: Identity Field Fluctuations

For sure no deletes. There's no indication that the inserts failed as the data is in the ship, order, and load tables.

  • RE: SSIS Logging to SQL Server 2012 - Not Capturing Errors

That's what I ended up doing this morning. Once I pointed everything at the built in logging tables, it worked fine.

Thank you, I will take a look.

Just for my own edification, does it log to the catalog exclusively on certain errors under the project deployment model? I still get...
