I might be missing the point, but why do you REALLY need to change the server collation? That is not going to change the collation across all your databases...

You should be able work around this by using a UNC path rather than a mapped drive eg \\server\share\path\file.txt

I had this problem after I had used Microsoft's DSOXML sample to script my cubes to xml, then re-load them (effectively un-processing them). I was also getting some processing errors...

Unless you are using DMO with VB6. In my experience, VB6 crashes as soon as it enters the event handler.
