A few things you can do ...

create a new database file and point the database to the new file on creation.  Make sure the file is sized to accommedate 6-12...

I'm using this to determine I/O, CPU and memory issues (we have performance issues with SQL trace).  Just change the job to run at a time of your performance issues...
