I would like to change to 64 bit but i have a legacy app that uses xp_sendmail. I know it isnt supported, but is there a way to get around sql2005 check. I have a new sp called xp_sendmail that works using database mail but sql 2005 64 bit errors out before calling it.
The legacy app cannot be changed.

I actually thought xp_sendmail was still there but just needed enabling. I just checked my x64 boxes and yes it's there in surface area config, but disabled.

yes it works for 32 bit but on 64 bit it gives you an error message saying it isnt supported
