what course should i take ?

  • thats what i think - i should be able to operate the DB in case of crash - and the db is small right now - so theres no performance probem - so ill be able to do the programmer course later on

    BUT......

now that sql 2005 is out

should i take a sql 2005 course although im working on a sql 2000 server with no future change in sight ????

are there courses for 2005 that are 85% compatible for 2000 sql server ???

  • From what I've been told 2005 has many similarities to 2000 as far as administering it.  I'm sure there are some differences; I know DTS is now SSIS.

As far as courses, I don't know if there are any full courses on 2005 yet or not.  I know there is MS2733, but that's for updating your skills from 2000.

I would stick with the 2000 course, since that is what you will be using.

Maybe someone else who has actually used 2005 has more to say...

  • ive just finished a sql 2005 convetion

and ure right - 2005 and 2000 are not so Similar
