Hi,
We currently have sql server 2000 standard version for our production database server. We are moving our datacenter to the new location in March. In order to take full advantage of the situation, We are building new machines in the new datacenter with sql server 2005. We are also moving to the new hardware-64 bit processors and clustering.
However, we have coupe of old applications talking to this database still around from 1998, which need to be supported till July. These applications use tons of *= kind of syntax which is not supported in 2005 version. So, we are planning to run sql server 2005 in compatility mode 80 (sql server 2000) and then we are planning to have another upgrade to switch to compatility mode 90.
Should I be aware of any issues related to this? has anyone seen any problems running the sql server 2005 in 2000 complatibility mode for couple of months? We will have less than a month to build, test and qa. So, I am little concerened that is there anything that I need to know before we start?

I don't have servers running 2000 cmpt mode...
