Upgrade 2008R2 from standard to enterprise ed.

    I'm going to upgrade SQL Server 2008R2 64bit from standard ed to enterprise ed. It's on Windows 2008R2 Ent. We have all services installed (eg.Analysis, Reporting Serv, etc). Also this instance is for Sharepoint 2010.

    Is there anything I'll need to watch out for in this edition upgrade?

    Should Sharepoint services be turned off?

    I hate inplace upgrades ; however I believe now with 2008 this is seemless - I did do one upgrade from std to enterprise but didn't have sharepoint installed so can't be sure on that. I'd probably not shut down services, normally the install process will tell you if services need to be stopped.

    One point to consider is that windows 2008 R2 supports bare metal backups so if you want to make sure you can back everythign up first - assuming you have disk space and time.

    I'll for sure have backups run before starting. Also will leave all the SQL Server services up. My only question now is how Sharepoint may effect it.
