String Function Help for address formatting

  • Hi ,

I am planning to update the street field in the table t_address from a database..

some people addresses are in the format 1225 westminister blvd#2A

I want to update # to Apt ,

Can anyone of you help with the code to accomplish this.

    Thank you.

  • Check out Books On-Line (BOL). You want the REPLACE() function.

  • Have you looked at simply using the Replace command? That should do what you need with the # symbols.

As far as getting addresses into fully formatted versions, your best bet is send it to list processing company and get them to "CASS" the list for you. (CASS is a postal accronym. It's a validation process.)
