Can I somewhere download this? Is it simply a free add on, or does it have to be purchased with a bought version of SQL Server 2005?
We have a computer running Windows Server 2003 R2, which has Microsft SQL Server 2005 running on it. I have my own computer that is networked to that one and am using SQL Server Management Studio Express to create views for the database in question. I am wondering how I can get SSRS so I can use my views to generate reports.
P.S. I'm a completely unfamiliar with creating Reports at the moment, sorry.

I'm still struggling with this issue. But I may have found out why I can't get SSRS as an option when I install SQL Server 2005 Express with Advanced Options. I have Windows 7 Home Premium, and apparently I cannot therefore install IIS which is required for the installation of SSRS, as per the following quote:
'It lacks the Server features required by IIS and SQL Reporting Services Components hence you won't be able to run SSRS on this OS Edition.'

Can anyone verifiy this? I installed IIS 7 with IIS 6 compatibility enabled in the 'Turn on/off Windows Features' from the add remove programs in control panel, but when I try and run the setup for SQL Server 2005 Express with Advanced Options, I get a warning message of:
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is either not installed or is disabled. IIS is required by some SQL Server features. Without IIS, some SQL Server features will not be available for installation. To install all SQL Server features, install IIS from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel or enable the IIS service through the Control Panel if it is already installed, and then run SQL Server Setup again. For a list of features that depend on IIS, see Features Supported by Editions of SQL Server in Books Online.
Add there still is no option to install Reporting Services.
I just want a GUI for creating reports, I heard something about one using Visual Studio for Web Apps or something?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This might be an easier question. Is there some Add-in for SSMS that will allow me to build reports and where can I get it?
EDIT: Is this a hard question or something? Why can no one answer? I have been looking online and found that SSRS is apparently just for running reports, and to make reports you can just use Business Intelligence Studio which is similar to Visual Studio 2008.. I'm just guessing from here on in. I don't know how these reporting programs even work. Are they installed and then appear somewhere in Management Studio or are they stand alone programs, Someone, anyone I just want to make a damn report! :crazy:
