Answer to both Questions:
T-SQL calling proc's or functions in you data source, not straight from report body.

2) It depends. User defined functions in SQL Server or functions in .NET in the report itself?

You have to call the Proc and functions in Datasets, and use the dataset in the report

you can call the User defined function and Store procedure directly in Report Dataset.
