I am admin on the report server.
I am able to login to the below url from my local machine:
But from outside the network I can't login to https://servername/Reports . I get the below error:
HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
Please let me know how I can resolve this. Thanks.

What kind of security do you have set up for this instance of SSRS? Did you keep the default Windows/NTLM? If so, that is your problem. If you are outside of the network, then the user coming across is not authenticated.

hi,
try this...
1) go to http:\\localhost\Reports
2) go to properties tab
3) add a role as content manager called "BUILTIN\Users"

step 1 : Go to the url http://localhost/Reports.step 2 : Go to the Tab named 'Properties'
step 3 : Remove all roles except 'BUILTIN\Administrators'
step 4 : ur done...

I guess first you have to define anywhere. You are on a private subnet, so the IP solution mentioned should only work on your subnet. If you really want it to be accessible anywhere, then you need to do some firewall configuration.The report has to deployed on a dedicated server. User will be authenticated either on Kerberos(with delegate) or WinNegotiate or any custom security protocol which will enable the user to browse any UDM installed on a separate UDM deployment server.
If it is just report server then it could is a WindowsNTLM
