  I don't run the DTS package(s) stand alone but in a VB.net project.

  I know you can run a DTS package from SSIS (control flow Execute DTS 2000 package task).

  This works. And you can schedule the SSIS project.

  There are a lot of tips on WWW. Google and you find it

  There was no need to create an SSIS package to run my DTS, I used the DTSRun inside a job, and the process was very fast ...

  ex:

  DTSRun /S Server /E /N "package_name"
