SSAS Service Stopped yesterday ?

  • In one of my production server SSAS service stopped yesterday and i would like to know what it mad stopped?

I check application event logs but it is just showing SSAS service stopped unexpectedly.

How to monitor why SSAS service stopped yesterday?

  • You don't really go into too much detail like..... Were you able to start the service again? What version are you running? What sort of disk setup do you have? Have you changed any of the properties of the analysis services instance recently? What else is on the box?

This can happen if one or more of your cubes are corrupted. Are they all working? Can they all be queried, processed?

    It could be this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2562971

It could be a lot of things but without any more detail it's hard to pin it down....

Um, you can't exactly 'monitor' an event that has already occurred. You can most definitely monitor events moving forward.

One place to start re: trying to capture information can be found below....

    Steve.

  • The Event Log may have some slues.

And if the server has performance counters being captured, you may have some more information to look at.
