SQL2000 Developer and XP Home

    Are SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition and XP Home Edition not compatible?  My install went fine but when I try to register a server in Enterprise Manager I get the error that the server cannot be found.

    Maybe SQL Server isn't runing yet.  Check the SQL Server Service Manager that can be found in the task pad.  Also, try registering with (local) instead of the computer name.  I haven't tried installing on Windows XP Home Edition, but you would have received an error saying that you could only install client tools if it is not compatible.
