hi,
When I connect sql server I get following error.Please help me to resolve the error.
Cannot connect to IWEB-19.

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -2)

Firewall issue:
Is your SQL server on a different part of the network (for security reasons) and thus having port 1433 blocked?
DNS issue:
Has some numpty in the network team typo'ed the IP address of the SQL server into DNS and your PC is now trying to connect to an HP printer?
Homer Simpson issue:
Is SQL server running? 😛

Need more inputs are there can be many reasons why the connection is not happening like
Remote connections allowed
blocked in firewall
service not running
permission issue etc etc...
if you are trying to connect from SSMS, check the connection time out value
pls post the error in the event log
