SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2

    We are going to install 2008 R2 Service pack 2 (Version No: 10.50.4000 without any Cumulative Updates)

    i did research and confirmed that there is CU11 for SP2

    My Question is.. after Installed SP2 can we install Cumulative Updates separately later when we get any issues ?

    Yes, you can do it any time you like.

    Its advisable to install with CU updates as it contains all the hotfixes from previous issues for SQL 2008 R2 . Why to wait till issue hits and then fix with cure . Just MPOV .

    I agree; I was just saying that it is possible. Not necessarily advisable, but you can.
