I have a server running SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2003 server, the version of MMC is 3.0. When I try to edit one of my DTS scripts and then close out of Enterprise Manager I get the following message:
"Microsoft Management Console encountered and error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have tried installing SP4 to replace the MSC, renamed the MSC on this server and copied an MSC from one of my other SQL 2000 server. None of these have worked.
My initial thought is that there is some compatibility issue between the 2000 Enterprise Manager and MMC 3.0 since I don't have any issues opening DTS scripts from this server from my other SQL 2000 Server.
Has anyone else seen this issue?

It's not W2K3. Likely something didn't install correctly. You might try uninstalling the SQL client tools and adding them back.

Uninstalling/re-installing didn't fix the issue.
