SQL Logins script

  • Hello All,

I have a SQL Server 2005 Express edition in a server. that server has only one instance. I would like to uninstall SQL and reinstall on the same server again because of some issue. Now I would like to script out all login and their permissions for all the databases. I don't have any other sql instance to transfer logins

I am just wondering about the procedure how to do that. Is ther any T-SQL script that I can use to execute to collect all the logins and permissions, may be store that script in a local drive and re execute that script in a newely installed instance so that I can map all the logins and their permissions from that script with out manually creating the Logins. If there is no script, please let me know if there is any other procedure that I can follow

    Thanks for all your suggestions

  • There are several fine scripts in the script section here at SSC. I would browse through those, try a few and then use the one that you like best.
