Hi,
As to my knowledge there is no defined size of SQL Server Error Log file. Sql Server will keep on using the same file until the server is restarted or sp_cycle_errorlog is called.
I have done the following two things to manage the log file in my server:
1. Made a Job which is scheduled daily to execute sp_cycle_errorlog to change to the next file.
2. Changed the maximum number of error log files to 99. (so as to hold log worth 99 days)

Yeah, it just grows. There isn't a default size. Best to follow an approach similar to what Shafat suggests above.
