SQL 2000 CLustering - SQL Cluster Services fail to start after DR test.

  •  We are currently running clustered W2K3 Servers Ent. Ed. with SQL 2000.  It is running in an active / passive mode.  The quorum is held on a network appliance storage volume and it has a separate resource volume as well.  In DR I have a separate cluster with its own quorum, but mirror the live resources to a DR volume.  When DR is invoked the cluster connects fine and all services come up.

When I switch back to live I lose the three SQL cluster services:  SQL Agent, SQL Server and SQL FUll Text search.  I add these manually and configure the dependancies manually.

When I try and bring the cluster online, these three services fail to come online.

I've hit a brick wall.  Any suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Is there nothing in the SQL Error Log?

If you can't get at it through EM try browsing to \MSSQL\DATA\MSSQL\LOG

Sometimes it's something as simple as MSDTC not being started before SQL Server.
