Sending downtime message from server...

    I have started working on sending downtime message. what could be the best solution for that. i was thinking to setup the job and using multiple step where first step will send email prior to second step which is maintainance task. Is there any best solution.

    To do that requires that you have a list of email addresses ... hardly seems worth doing this in SQL. If you are trying to alert users that the server is about to become unavailable, you need to consider that they probably won't get the email until after it is unavailable (or even back up again).
