  • Ah Bill, still looking are you? Maybe consider offering this as a contract position in the $75/hr range? The job content itself looks excellent but the level of person you are looking for can do better as a contractor.

While the $100k salary seems attractive it pales compared to contract rates (think $75+/hr) AND that salary puts you within striking range of the dreaded AMT (with no business deductions) AND you are in San Diego where the mortgage on an outhouse is $500k. And stock options? Well, how many start-ups have gone tits up, reverse-split, retrenched, and generally screwed over their minions? Not to mention the tax bite when you actually try to cash in those options. How many options are we looking at...500, 1000, 5000? Even if you net $100 per share (which you never would) on 5000 shares, you are no better off then if you took the contract job. Now, 50,000 options I might consider. As if the rank-and-file would ever get a slice that big.

    In summary: contract!

  • Interesting, but isn't a broken down shack in San Diego go for 500k? 100K isn't going to go very far with that housing market. Maybe move this position to North Dakota.

  • hmmm ... WTAWTAW and what I read are 2 different things ...

  • Reading the post again I just want to say, SQL 2000 is soo 6 years ago

Or to put it another way, the future was paved with dot-com dollars and Bill Clinton was getting his knob polished in the White House!
