Recommended .NET books?

  • Hi all, I can't seem to find a job that allows me to develop in anything other than T-SQL. Can anyone out there recommend a good .NET book I can use for self-study? TIA!

  • SAMS Publishing has some books titled like "teach yourself C# in 24 hours" and "teach yourself visual basic .NET web programming in 21 days" they are both excellent for getting a handle on the .NET system.

  • "Programming C#" from O'Reilly has been my first encounter with .NET.

As a DBA I was happy to find chapters about ADO.NET, web services and integration with COM.

I haven't read the book from A to Z, but still it has been good.

  • Cool. Thanks guys!

  • In .NET 2.0 there are only two good C# language only books one by Jeffery Richter and another by Herbert Schildts the former is advanced the later is comprehensive.  But there is good news the Asp.NET team created many free training videos and paid experts to create tutorials, swing by the Asp.net founder's blog and run searches for all you need in training.  Post again if you need more help.
