Greetings,
I am almost sure of the answer, but I want to be very sure: Can you profile (SQL Server Profiler) a filegroup?
Another question; The name of a datafile has no importance if you can profile a filegroup. right?
Thank you

The only thing I'm aware of that you can do by default is monitor file growth & shrinkage through Profiler. Maybe if you created a custom counter, but I'm not sure how to do that.
