permissions to run @@version

    What a minimum permissions can i add to non sysadmin in order to run @@version?

    I think even "public" role can run this...not sure

    Otherwise look for "View server state" permission

    SQL Reddy is correct; I created a new user with only connect rights to SQL Server it was able to run @@Version successfully.
