This was my first time trying for a certification. I prepared for roughly a month using the Microsoft press training kit as well as a third party practice test. Knowing what I know now, I would have spent more time utilizing BOL and reading rather than taking practice exams. After a certain point, you begin to memorize the practice exam questions which can artificially raise your practice scores.
I found the exam a bit ambiguous at times but otherwise similar to the practice test included with the training kit. I had plenty of time left upon exam completion, so taking your time to read each question several times is very important.

Congratulations! Can you say what third-party practice test you used? Did it prepare you for the exam topics or were you surprised by any topics on the exam? Would you use them again?
Now that you have passed your first certification, do you plan to take more exams? It can get to be like an addiction. Once you have one logo on your resume, you want to add more. Did you download your logo and print your certificate from the Microsoft MCP site yet? Here is the link:

Thank you all. I used the Transcender practice exam. It was useful because the questions differed in scope than the training kit questions but for future exams I believe I will try to use BOL as a resource more often.
Next on the the list is 70-433 but probably not until January/February.

I have passed the 70-433 exam recently. The practice test is in my opinion more difficult then the actual exam. But the answers of the practice test contains links to relating BOL pages. Very useful!
