Error executing SQL statement (080S1:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Communication link failure].
We have a SQL Server 7.0 SP3 database that is running on a Windows 2000 Server. The database is 238 GB and spans several drives. We recently added a 72 GB drive to the server due to growth. We are now getting the above error on a regular basis...
Any ideas??

Which version of MDAC are you running? Is the database on a clustered server?

MDAC 2.6. Not a cluster and running standard edition.

Since it is not on a cluster, I would upgrade MDAC...

Also suggest SP4, I know it fixes some comms errors but not sure about link failures.
Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.
