New Report with "save as" ?

  • I have a project with 14 reports, and I want to add a 15th, based on one of the existing reports. I can open Report_1 and do "save as" report_15, but it seems as though it just renames report_1 to report_15, not creating a new one as I would expect "save as" to do (as it does in the rest of the world).

I'm very new to RS, so maybe I'm just missing something obvious. TIA

  • You can just go to the location you have the report RDL files saved and copy report_1.rdl and paste it back into the location then rename it report_15.rdl. Then in report project use Add existing item to select the "new" report.

  • In the Solution Explorer select "Report_1" and press Ctrl+C, now click in Reports and press Ctrl+V, this will generate the report "Copy of Report_1", only rename the "Copy of Report_1" to "Report_15"

I hope this will help you
