MSDB Over 6 gig in size has never been cleaned up I want to run this Script. Will this impact my userdatabases? Should I wait and
run this during downtime(we are a 24/7 shop so down time is hard to come by). What are your thoughts.

whats the date of the oldest history in the msdb?

2008-07-02 17:31:12.000
the overall database size is 300gig and I fear that maintenance of any kind has not been run on it since 2008
backups take 15 hours.

ok start by trimming the backup history but dont use getdate(0 -30 cos that will try and delete all history and possibly consume the server. Purge the history in stages so everything from 01/01/2009 and older then 28/07/2009 and older then 28/12/2009 and older, etc
