Mirroring - applying database updates

    Hi All,

    We have a 3rd party company that wasnt to install an update to the database they have provided us with.

    We have setup mirroring between srv1 and srv2 and are wondering if they apply the update on srv1 (principle) will the mirror (srv2) also apply the updates ?

    I was going to stop the mirroring, let them apply the update on srv1 and then backup the database and put back on to srv2 and restart the mirroring.

    What is the best way to approach this?

    As long as they are updates to the database and not the instance, then mirroring will handle them correctly with no effort on your part. You would only need to stop/pause mirroring if you wanted to validate those updates before having them hit the mirror (and restarting mirroring will push them through).
