Memory with Standard edition

  • I have been trying to track down exactly how much RAM standard edition can use.  All of the threads and documentation I have been reading only talk about using AWE and the 3Gb switch in the boot.ini for the enterprise edition of SQL.  Can anybody help me out or point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

  • 2GB is the limit for Standard Edition.  All the talk about AWE and the 3Gb  switch applies to Enterprise Edition.  Here is the official MS reference on the matter:

  • Thanks!  That is what I needed!

  • Can anyone send me the above documentation?  Thanks

  • With the introduction of 2005 Standard Edition is no longer limited in the amount of RAM it can use

The page I referenced above seems to be removed, but if you look at Books Online under "Maximum Capacity Specifications" you can find the information.
