  We are facing the below error, while trying to connect to the Oracle DB using the Linked Server.

  Error:

  ======

  cannot initialise the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDAORA" for linked server "

  ".

  OLe DB provider "" for linked server "" return message "Oracle Client and networking

  components were not found. These components are suplied by Oracle component and are part

  of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.

  Provider is unable to function until these components are installed."

  (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)

  ============================================

  I checked with the Oracle DBA, and he says:

  "Oracle client software is installed on the server. I am able to connect to the databases mentioned in the tnsnames.Ora file".

  Do you have the ora file on the sql2005 server as well?
