Hi,
This is Siri, sudheer's colleague and we are presently handling the issue regarding the Job Email Notification Failure in SQL Server 2008. Your help is much appreciated.
We have configured the DB Mail already and also tested in many ways. We have received all the test emails which were used for testing in case of Database Mail.
The issue we are facing is that, the email is notification is failing in case jobs in SQL Server. The job is running successfully but the notification thru mail is failing. The operators used in this case are very much correct and we have also reverified them.
Please let us know what cud be steps to have more checks in this failure of notification.
Thanks,
Siri

hi you may use the technique below from todd engen.
In SSMS select Database Mail under Management, right-click and Configure Database Mail. After that's complete send a test mail using the new profile to confirm that works.
Next, open the properties of the SQL Server Agent. On the Alert System page enable the mail profile. Restart the SQL Server Agent for the change to take effect.
Under the SQL Server agent create Operators to send messages to.
Finally, in your job select Notifications and set the Operator to send to when the job completes.

I fall in to this trap most of the time as well, never remeber to restart the Agent to get it to pick up the mail profile

My emails when the job fails stopped working last week when nothing has changed. Any ideas?
