Insalling SSAS cluster on existing database cluster

    Hi,

    Im trying to install a SSAS failover cluster on top of an existing Sql Server install. However I keep getting this error:

    The specified Virtual Server name already exists on the network. To proceed, enter a unique Virtual Server name.

    I have read somewhere that I may be able to get round this problem by temporarily removing the virtual server name from DNS and then trying to reinstall. Does anyone know anything about this or has ideas how I can solve this?

    Have you tried pinging the virtual server name that you are attempting to use? Check to see if it's live and valid? If so you might want to look around and find the owner.
