How to perform MSDE 2000 unattended installation

    Has anyone done MSDE 2000 unattended installation? Thanks for your help.

    I have managed to deploy it using the provided installer by simply modifying the INI file with my specific database reqirements. One hassle I found was that the INI file is not well documented. If you want more information on it, please let me know and I will try find my INI file and comment it here for all to see.

    Thanks and please post it. And have you performed unattended uninstallation of MSDE 2000 too? The parameter /x from the setup.exe just doesn't work for me.

    To uninstall MSDE2000 I used the following command:

    setup.exe /x setup/sqlrun01.msi

    The uninstall needs to reference the msi file used by the installation process.

    I have a question regarding unattended installs of MSDE 2000 as well.

    Does anyone know how to automate assigning a non LocalSystem account to the SQLSERVERAGENT service so that it can participate in merge replication?
