help for n00b

  • Hi couple of questions....

    1)  What kind of database object is 'inserted'?

    2)  After an SQL 'update' command, will the number of rows 'inserted'

necessarily  be the same as 'deleted'

      any help greatly appreciated!  Cheers

  • 1.  Data is inserted into Tables ??

    2.  AFAIK they should be equal.  If they aren't there would be a problem because you would have deleted more rows than inserted...

  • Are you talking about the 'inserted' and 'deleted' tables in a trigger? or did AJ's response answer your question for you?

  • hey yes, I think what are inserted are the transition values e.g. inserted deleted old_update, new_update but i am unsure....

      Cheers!
