Get this error ""All cluster disks available to this virtual server are owned by other node(s)" "

  • Hello SQL Gurus!

I'm in the middle of installing active/active sql cluster on our company.  I was able to install the default virtual server on serverA and was trying to install the named instance on serverB.  serverA has E and F cluster disks assigned and serverB has cluster disks G and H.  Cluster disks E and F is owned by serverA and serverB.  Cluster disks G and H is owned by serverB and serverA.

I was trying to install the named instance on serverA until I got this error message "All cluster disks available to this virtual server are owned by other node(s)" after putting the instance name.

Can you please let me know what to do?  I'm thinking of cancelling this install and just try to install the named instance on serverB and see if it would see drive G and H.

    Thanks!

  • Have you used Cluster Admin (or the cluster command) to "move" the disks to server A for the duration of the SQL setup?

    Cheers,
