Financial Year dates

    How do i calculate where abouts the specified date fits into the current financial year? ie Week number, which Qtr etc.

    I can suggest you to create a function and pass the current date as the parameter and perform the calculation inside the function and return the value to you calling programme.

    Using DATEPART you can get the quarter or week. However, since DATEPART works with the calendar year, if the financial year is not the calendar year, you would have to translate the date to map its financial year position into a calendar year position. You would also have to take into account the difference in the day of the week between the start of the calendar year and the start of the financial year.
