eSATA

    Any one have opinions/knowledge on what kind of performace a db server would get using a eSATA RAID set-up?

    Right now I have 300 gig of db space with only 13 gig free - one db currently takes up 225 gig of the 300.

    So I am looking for an easy way to add some space but still maintain a soild level of performance

    There's an article about sata disks in this months sql server magazine.

    I think, but may be wrong, that sata/ide disks and controllers do not support the correct standards for maintining transactional integrity in the event of disk/server failure, so if it's a production oltp system this might not be a good move.

    Never mind, I though I read SATA not eSATA.
