  • Do you mean shrink the database to make more disk space avalible ?

  • If you're talking about the SQL data disk, step one is to delete the sample databases: pubs and northwind for 2000.  Make sure to delete the data files after you delete them with Enterprise Manager.

There are lots of other things that can be moved or removed to save space.  Be more specific with your question, and you'll get a better answer.

So long, and thanks for all the fish,

  • I agree, we need better information from you. But since you ARE posting on a SQL Server forum, I'm guessing your database files grew too large.

Basic question: are you backing up your databases? If not, right there is a problem - you should be doing Full backups and if your database is in Full recovery mode, you should be also doing Log backups.
