Deleted Merge Replication

  I was getting the following error when deleting the merge replciation:

  The name XXX was not found in the TransPublication collection.  I ran sp_removedbreplication and then recreated the transactional replication that I wanted.  That seems to work fine for a week and every Monday I see the icon for merge replication reappear and with a failed mark next to it. 

  I know how to clean it up, based on the feedback I got thru the forum here, but why does it reappear every Monday?  Is there a way to remove it permanently?
