Create a text file with T-SQL

  • Is it possible to use Transaction SQL to create a text file on the C drive of my pc? Also, can anyone recommend a good Transaction SQL book? I've written a lot of SQL on our mainframe but this is a whole different monster.

  • If you use Query Analyzer to run your t-sql and set the "Default Results Target" under "Tools" - "Options" - "Results" tab as "Results to file", you can save the results of your query to a file...

  • oh - for good t-sql books - don't know if O'Reilly still publishes them but they used to have a very good one called "Transact SQL Programming"....and then there's Ken Henderson's "The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL"!
