  Hi,

  I know the command ALTER INDEX ALL ON dbo.check

  REBUILD WITH (ONLINE = ON);

  Will excute on a 2005 server with a comptabilty mode 80 database.

  But will it actualy be online ?

  Ed,

  it should be possible to use online indexing with the DB in Compt 80. I tested it on my VM and it works fine

  The only requirement is that you need to be running SQL 2005 Enterprise Edition.
