Authentication of a DTS Package

    Hi Everyone

    I have a DTS Package on one particular server.I'm the owner of the Package.This package will indeeds read/write the data to other Server,where i dont have access.When i'm executing the package it throws me error "Access Denied" and "you need permission to view its data".

    Does it make sense?Whether the owner of the package need read/write acces to the target server?

    If the destination connections in the package are using Windows authentication, then yes, you need to have access to the destination server although it's not the owner of the package that matters as much as whom is executing the package.

    Just like any other tool, you can't read data from a location that you don't have permission to access.
