Assign Prosessing to Application

    Is any one know anyhow to assign SQL server processing to specifiec application?

    I have Cogno report running a lot of server CPU and slow down other application request. I am thinking it may be the way that I can limit Cogno report application can only run upto 40 percent CPU and leave room for others.

    Not sure if even this would help.

    Went to a MS presentation, last year so the memory is fuzzy, about Win2003.  They did demo some form of software that did do that.  But at the OS level.  I.e. SQL Server could only get ? cpu etc.  I don't think it went down into sub processes like you explain.
