Nah, post the rant here, then go back and phrase it as a question and re-post it...

Well, one more kid gone. Moved the middle one to college yesterday and left him there.
One interesting thing from me. This was his bookshelf, books he brought from home to read. Not for classes, for general interest.

I have at least briefly mentioned my past as a punk rock musician in Lawrence, KS in the late 80s. The place where most of the shows were at that time was called the Outhouse. It has become somewhat punk rock legend among bands of that time and still gets lots of mention these days. A friend of mine started a major project many years ago to put together a documentary about the cinder block shack in the middle of a corn field that hosted some incredible shows over the years. It is finally going to be released October 14 followed by (what else) a punk rock show down the street. Should be pretty interesting to see this film. I have seen some various parts of it over the years. I have several different segments in the live footage and a couple of interviews. Probably not all that interesting to anybody else but I wanted to share as this is pretty cool even though it was about 2-3 lifetimes ago.

At least for now it isn't a tv thing. It is in the theater. 🙂 https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/mobile/index/1549657?utm_medium=bks

His comment in the "group by select" thread is his usual disgraceful rudeness, but in the "exclude weekends" and "select statement help" threads although he is on about irrelevant standards (those two threads are in SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 forums respectively, so the standard there should be T-SQL not ANSI/ISO) he isn't rude about it - a big change from the usual Celko. I was quite surprised, but disgraceful and insulting rudeness in one post in three is still totally unacceptable even though it is an improvement on his old do it in almost every post style.

Sorry, all. I invited him over for a pool party and he kinda wandered off to play with the manatees.

I'll pass, he's taken none of the advice from the last two threads that I participated in about why the design he's got won't work.

It was very creepy though how dark it got. All was not lost as I was able to experience how the darkness rolled in. And the actual eclipse part was much as I remembered it as a kid in grade school in the 70s. Hopefully in another 7 years I will be able to travel to view the totality (and it won't be cloudy).I'm eying 2026 in Iceland. August, so possibility of eclipse and northern lights in one trip 🙂
That, or 2030 when the path of totality goes 270km south of Johannesburg.I saw the full eclipse in 2002, spectacular!
Northern lights are truly amazing. We could see them occasionally when I lived in Seattle but the year I lived in Alaska we got to see them quite frequently. I like the idea of Iceland in 2026. Would really like to visit there someday anyway so why not do it during a great time!!!
I enjoyed the lights in Alaska when I lived there. It was cool.
