I keep saying this is an interface problem.

Quite agree. We have moved a lot of the logic over to SQL Server - lots of multi table table views with limited update triggers, audit triggers on tables, heavy use of lookup tables to enforce validation via foreign keys. No user access to tables. Lookups delivered via stored procs. Much data crunching including cross tabs done on the server. Heavy duty learning curve!

The sad part is that we're not just missing something obvious. I could handle that little embarrassment. Lots of practice.

It really isn't quite round, is it? I'll take my new knowledge to IT disguised as my questions about what we might do. Let them wonder how the hell I suddenly know enough to ask a good question. I'll own up after I study the looks on their faces.
