I can’t remember where I heard this recently, but it’s been stuck in my head as one of those bits of wisdom that matches with my own experience and wanted to write it down. I think this is part of why networking works and is worth the effort. Mostly for me this happens when a friend says “you should talk to …”. It doesn’t always work, but mostly it does. If they like the person well enough to suggest the connection it’s always worth finding time to see what will come of it.
